Terms of Service

Please read carefully these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") as set out below. By registering an account ("Your Account") or ("Account"), you are deemed to have accepted and understood them.

  1. General
    1. These Terms are a binding legal agreement between You and LockBet, a brand owned and operated by REYS AND MEYS TECHNOLOGIES SMC LIMITED a company incorporated in Kenya, its successors in title and assigns and, where the context so requires, its agents, service providers, data processors, business partners including any entity that may provide technical support and ancillary services to the Company enable it to operate gaming and ancillary services or products, and who operates this platform/website under the brand name "LockBet".
    2. LockBet is operated by Reys and Meys Technologies SMC Limited and is licensed and regulated by the Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board of Kenya under Section 28 of the Lotteries and Gaming Act, 2016. License: NLGRB-CS-97-935
    3. REYS AND MEYS TECHNOLOGIES SMC LIMITED is also Merchant of Record, meaning it processes all Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money payments from customers and is responsible for processing all payments, including both deposits and withdrawals.
    4. In these Terms, REYS AND MEYS TECHNOLOGIES SMC LIMITED shall be referred to as “LockBet”, “us”, “we” or “our” and you are referred to as “you” or “your”.
    5. The products and services that LockBet offers via its platform, are together referred to as the “Services”. Your agreement under these Terms and Conditions is with us for all the Services that You use.
    6. Your usage of our services and casino products is bound by these Terms.
    7. LockBet reserves the right to change these Terms at any time and without prior notice. We will endeavor to inform you about major modifications to the Terms. Please note, it is your responsibility to regularly check for any changes. Should you, as a result to any possible changes or modifications not wish to continue using our services, you can withdraw uncommitted funds and close your account by contacting customer care through mobile phone number +254792131313 or sending email to custome@lockbet.com. The full amount less applicable transaction fees will be debited to your provided registered M-Pesa account number within 48 hours.
  2. General Sportsbook and Casino
    1. All customers must be Eighteen (18) years of age and above and residents in Kenya in order to register and participate in any content, including the placing of stakes on a bet or participating in any other content found on this platform.
    2. It is an offence for anyone under the age of 18 years to open an account or to gamble on this platform. You have sole responsibility of ensuring your account is not used for underage gambling and the company reserves right to suspend or/ and terminate your account without notice should it be suspected for aiding underage betting.
    3. In order to avoid unlawful betting, we reserve the right to carry out checks to verify the information provided.
    4. Registration of LockBet Account
      1. To apply, register and operate account with LockBet, you MUST be 18 years and above and register in person. You must own a registered mobile number.
      2. You will be required to truthfully provide correct and accurate information. You must provide all details sought in all fields including providing your full name and registered mobile phone number (registered mobile number means your mobile sim card line registered under your ID Number and issued by a registered telecommunication service provider/ and mobile service provider in Kenya).
      3. You must provide your age and confirm the same in required fields. The Company reserves the right to ask for proof of your age and your account may be suspended until such proof is satisfactory provided.
      4. In the event your account is suspended for this reason, please contact customer care by dialing or sending email to customer@lockbet.com.
      5. You confirm that you are not currently subject to a self-exclusion from Betkumi or/ and any other licensed gaming operator in Kenyaand you have not signed up for self-exclusion with Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) of Kenya to be excluded from any gambling platform licensed in Kenya.
      6. To open an account with Betkumi, you will be required to create a username if you wish it to be different from the provided mobile phone number. You will also be required to choose a password for your account. It is your sole responsibility to keep your password secure and confidential at all times. You may change your password anytime by clicking on change password
      7. All payments both your deposits and withdrawals will be made only through and to the provided mobile phone number.
    5. Before proceeding to open the account, you will be required to accept these terms and conditions and by accepting them:
      1. You represent to us (and acknowledge that we rely on these representations) that you are of sound mind and capable of taking responsibility for your own actions and that you can enter into a legally binding agreement with us.
    6. You have sole responsibility in ensuring your payment details and contact information are up to date at all times.
    7. You have sole responsibility to ensure that your security details remain confidential. In any event where you are concerned that your security details are no longer confidential, you have the obligation to promptly change your password and/ or you may also notify us immediately. Any transactions that have been placed by a person who is securely logged into your account will be your responsibility.
    8. Accounts deposits and bets
      1. You should only deposit funds into your account with us from your registered Mobile Money wallet number provided during registration. In such cases where we identify that money was deposited into your account via a different Mobile Money wallet from which we hold, we reserve the right to treat any winnings arising from such deposits as void.
      2. You will be able to play immediately after any deposit transaction has been confirmed.
      3. We only accept bets made online, which for clarity means bets only made via our platform lockbet.co.ke. Bets are not accepted in any other form whatsoever and any bets received in any other form(s) will be null and void.
      4. All bets will be processed once the bet has been placed and the acceptance confirmed by us.
      5. Bets cannot be cancelled or changed once the bet has been confirmed by us.
      6. We reserve the right to void any or all bets that have been made by any person or group of persons who are acting in an attempt to defraud us. If there is evidence of a series of bets, each containing the same selection having been placed by or for the same individual or syndicate of individuals, we reserve the right to make such bets void and suspend relevant accounts. This rule applies to both settled and unsettled bets.
      7. Bets will be placed only by accounts with sufficient balances for particular bets. The minimum betting amount is UGX. 300 with a maximum betting amount of KES. 3000. Winnings will be credited to the Customer's account following the confirmation of the final result or end of round.
      8. We reserve the right to void any bet that may have been accepted when the account did not have sufficient funds to cover the bet. If an account has insufficient funds as a result of a deposit that has been cancelled by the payment processing party, We reserve the right to cancel any bets that may have been accepted retroactively and void any winnings paid to you from those bets.
      9. Should funds be credited to your account in error, it is your responsibility to notify us of the error without delay. Any winnings subsequent to the error shall be deemed invalid and returned to us.
      10. When an event is cancelled, all bets referring will be cancelled automatically and the related accounts will be refunded.
    9. If no wager or transaction has been processed in your account for the last twenty-four (24) months, Your account is considered dormant. We will contact you via provided contacts regarding any remaining account balance. If We are unable to successfully reach you, We shall retain the all unclaimed balance amount as a fee.
    10. The reference language of these Terms is English. In spite of the care brought to our translations, in case of difficulty of comprehension of a clause of these Terms and Conditions, only the English version will be valid.
    11. We reserve the right to suspend or close your account and void all settled and unsettled bets in the event that you open more than one account.
    12. We do not accept responsibility for any typing, human or palpable errors that lead to obvious price errors. In all such cases bets will be deemed void.
    13. We do not accept responsibility for damages or losses deemed or alleged to have resulted from or been caused by the website or its content including without limitation, delays or interruptions in operation or transmission, loss or corruption of data, communication or line failure, any person's misuse of the site or its content, or any errors or omissions in content.
    14. The maximum winnings to any Casino games played through our platform, other than progressive jackpot slots, for any calendar day (00:00:00- 23:59:59) shall be no greater than KES. 1000000. Please note these restrictions apply regardless of stake amount.
    15. In relation to any sports betting transactions placed through our platform, other than as may be set otherwise in relation to specific markets under the Betting rules, for any one calendar day (00:000:00- 23:59:59) the maximum aggregate winnings shall be no greater than KES.1000000. Please note that these restrictions apply regardless of stake amount.
    16. Winnings will usually be paid without You needing to make a claim. If You believe that You have not received any winnings due to You then You should notify us as soon as possible and provide evidence for Your claim. No claim for winnings may be made more than thirty (30) days after the date on which the relevant event or game is completed.
    17. We reserve the right to change odds and information displayed on the website at any time and without notice. We will take reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of this information but information is presented as a guide only. Prices displayed on the website are indicative only and are not binding until a bet has been confirmed by us. In the event of any particular information (score, time of game, bust etc) being incorrect we assume no liability for this. Please refer to our betting rules for information on how we settle individual markets.
    18. The platform will at all times show records of recent bets placed, results and account activity. We recommend that you keep independent records of all of the transaction information, games rules, cancellation rules, and payment methods in order to avoid any future misunderstandings.
    19. All promotions and offers are limited to one per person. We reserve the right to withdraw any promotion or offer upon completion of their full duration or at any time without prior notice.

    21. If you wish to make a formal complaint about our services you should first contact our Customer Services department via mobile number and email address provided (above and on the platform). We will respond as quickly as possible and, in all cases, we strive to ensure that all complaints are responded to within 48 hours. Our response includes the full name of the person who will be handling your complaint. In any event you do not believe our resolution to your complaint to be fair and transparent then you are free to request for the complaint to be escalated to a member of our Senior Management team who will personally review your complaint and make a final decision. Should you still be of the opinion that our resolution is not fair and transparent or unsatisfactory in any way about the resolution made, then the dispute can be referred to the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) of Kenya by either party.
    22. Data protection constitutes an integral part of these Terms of Service. Please see Privacy Policy for details of how personally identifiable information is collected and may be processed or shared with others.
    23. Governing Laws and consequential provisions
      1. The agreement between You and the Company is government by these Terms of Service and by the relevant and applicable Laws of Kenya, Kenya being the operational jurisdiction of the Company and its services/ products where they will be offered directly to all duly registered players/ account holders and / or through its service providers and intermediaries.
      2. The information contained herein is a property of LockBet and is solely intended for your personal use only and may not be used for any commercial purposes without express written consent of LockBet or REYS AND MEYS TECHNOLOGIES SMC LIMITED. While every effort is made to ensure that the information is accurate, LockBet or REYS AND MEYS TECHNOLOGIES SMC LIMITED accepts no responsibility for any use made of the information provided on this platform and excludes all liability in respect of any loss suffered by any person arising directly or indirectly from use of the information.
      3. This platform, the website, name, logo and all consequential designs, graphics, texts, sound, music, video and any other material and source code on LockBet.co.ke are all intellectual property rights of the Company.
      4. The Company is not responsible for any consequences resulting from major incidents such as any strike, public unrest and demonstrations, terrorist activities, political crisis, war, natural catastrophe and saturation of telecommunication networks and mobile money service providers, cyber-attacks, hacking among others which could lead to a total or partial access to our services or loss of data by itself or by other contracted independent service providers on whom the company will wholly or partially be reliant on to deliver the services.
      5. Any changes to these Terms will be displayed on your next login to this platform prior to these changes taking effect.
    24. Taxation
      1. As provided for by the Income Tax Act, Cap 472, all gaming and betting companies are required to withhold winnings at a rate of 20%. This is the Withholding Tax In compliance with the law, LockBet will deduct and remit to KRA 20% of all winnings.
